Dear Parents/Carers
If your child's class is closing on Wednesday 1st February 2023 as a result of the National Strike Action, school staff will have already contacted you by telephone and letter. If you have not been made aware of the closure, then your child's class will remain open as usual.
Thank you for your patience and understanding on this matter. We will keep you updated regarding the remaining dates of Strike Action as we know more closer to the time.
Dear Parents/Carers
National Strike Action
You may have seen on the news that one of the main teaching unions the NEU plans to take national strike action across 7 days in the coming two months. Due to the way that this has been arranged, all schools will be affected by four of these. For schools in the West Midlands, the four days are as follows:
· Wednesday 1st February 2023
· Wednesday 1st March 2023
· Wednesday 15th March 2023
· Thursday 16th March 2023
At this stage, there is no clarity on how much this will impact on Watermill School and I will be working closely in the coming days and weeks in collaboration with the union representative, the Local Authority and the Department for Education to develop a fuller understanding of how this will affect us as a school.
Once I have more information I will be in touch.
Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding on this matter
Yours sincerely
Jonathon May
Executive Headteacher
Dear Parents/Carers
We apologise for having to close the school today at 8.00am and are aware this is extremely short notice to you all.
We had cleared the site ready for the school day however the vast majority of pupils would have been stuck in traffic for extended periods of time due to traffic congestion around the city and several serious accidents in the local area.
Information is normally available on the website and via app as soon as we are able to make a decision.
Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank-you for your generosity at the Christmas Performance. We raised £506.80 for the school fund.
A big thank you to all of the parents from the school parent group who worked so hard to get prizes and stalls together for the parents, pupils and staff to enjoy.
Kind regards
Mr May
Please take a look in the Communication section of the Parents page to see this week's sign of the week - Christmas
Mr Greenhalgh has added some really useful parent/carer guides to some of the games our pupils play on line. There is also a helpful guide to combat online bullying.
Thank you for all the wonderful donations sent in for the Harvest Festival. We were overwhelmed by your generosity. The food will be sent to our local Foodbank.
