PSHE

A whole School Priority Area for 2017 was PSHE, Audits and action plans have ensured our pupils are exposed to the highest quality experiences in this crucial area of development. These can be seen in greater depth by looking at the thrice yearly governors reports in the about us Governors Section of this website.

The PSHE curriculum also provides opportunity to deliver our new Mental Health and Wellbeing Policy. This has been developed across The Stoke Special Schools Learning Trust in direct partnership with the Child and Adolescence Mental Health team in Stoke. Mental Health has a new high priority across the City Schools and schools not in the Trust will also be rolling out policies and actions in due course.

Led by Julia Ford of CAMHS  and Gill Howell of the Trust a launch day on Friday 15th September 2017 was held by all schools to celebrate the introduction of the new Mental Health and Well Being Policy in each school. We aim for our students to develop the vocabulary and confidence to discuss mental health and well being in the same way as they can discuss physical health. Here are some of Watermill's activities.
