STOKE SPECIAL SCHOOLS’ LEARNING TRUST

Our Trust was created in June 2015 and we are committed to:

  • Achieving the highest quality standards in education, health and well-being.
  • Maximising the potential of all of our pupils so that they achieve as much independence as possible and enjoy a quality of life which is both stimulating and rewarding.
  • Working with a range of partners to secure holistic approaches to meet individual needs.

Key areas of focus for our Trust are to:

  • Further improve outcomes for all our learners so that they can lead independent lives and contribute positively to the local community.
  • Strengthen our ability to work collaboratively and co-operatively to enable our schools to grow and improve together, moving from “good” to “outstanding”.
  • Share resources, skills and expertise across each school to secure high quality teaching and learning for all.
  • Share and use data effectively to further improve outcomes for our learners.
  • Formalise and further develop current arrangements for joint working, including support for innovative and creative approaches to teaching and learning.
  • Increase our commissioning and buying power to ensure that we achieve best value from our resources.
  • Further increase levels of aspiration across our school communities.
  • Continue to support parents and carers, particularly in response to changes in SEN funding and legislation.
  • Secure multi-agency and holistic approaches to meet the needs of individual learners with respect to their education, health and well-being.
  • Further develop cohesive and inclusive provision for all our learners in Stoke-on-Trent both within the special schools and the maintained, trust and academy sectors through well-developed and sustained outreach and training programmes.
