Music

At Watermill, along with the fantastic new building we have some amazing Performing Arts facilities:

  • a spacious music room with a well stocked instruments store to enable all abilities to access music.
  • a fantastic stage area which can be used to perform in the music room, or to a larger audience in the hall, and we have already put on 2 extravaganzas - Summer and Christmas 2014, where all students had the chance to get on the stage and perform with their class.
  • a soundproof Recording Room, with equipment to enable performances to go ahead with great sound and microphones
  • a range of instruments for classes or small groups to use, such as keyboards, guitars and ukuleles

Music Teaching

All classes have access to some music sessions during their Key Stage, from Early Years to Key Stage 3. Key Stage 4 pupils often have the chance to choose a music/ performing arts option at college.  Music is made as multisensory as possible, and sessions are planned to link in with the whole school topic.
